Amazing Adelaide - 2nd Ashes Test 2006 / 2007 (DVD)      A$ 27.50
Add to basketBasket
It seemed an impossible outcome. After England clearly dominated the first two days of the 2nd 3 mobile Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval, a draw appeared to be the most likely result. Ricky Ponting’s Australian side had other ideas. On the final day, with masterful bowling and courageous batting, Australia achieved the unthinkable, winning the Test by six wickets with 3.1 overs to spare.

In one of the greatest comebacks in history, the Australian Cricket team not only crushed England’s hopes in the Second Test, butquite possibly buried their dream of retaining the Ashes.Hosted by Richie Benaud and Michael Slater, this exclusive DVD brings you the incredible moments of that historic Test, including the euphoric post match celebrations.

"Seriously, can you remember a worse day for English cricket in the last seven years?" Oliver Brett, BBC Sport

Bodyline - It's Just Not Cricket (DVD)

   A$ 29.99
Add to basketBasket
'BODYLINE', it is the most emotive word in the history of Test Cricket.

'Bodyline' bowling and the events that transpired during the 1932-33 Test Series between Australia and England spread far beyond the cricket field. The furore created by 'Bodyline' soured Anglo- Australian relations and caused diplomatic shock waves that were felt in the corridors of Canberra and Whitehall.

What the cricket world came to know as 'Bodyline' were tactics primarily used by the England Captain Douglas Jardine to curb the prolific scoring of the batting genius, Don Bradman. The bowlers used to spearhead the 'Bodyline' assault were the opening pair from Nottingham, Harold Larwood and Bill Voce.

The immortal words uttered by Australia's Captain Bill Woodfull have now become part of cricket folklore: "There are two teams out there, one is playing cricket. The other is making no attempt to do so!"

The documentary draws on archival film, photographs and interviews with historians, writers and family members of some of the principal characters involved in the 'Bodyline' saga.

Cricket in the 60s – Winds of Change (DVD)     A$ 29.95
Add to basketBasket
The 1960s began with what has been regarded as the ‘Greatest Test Series Ever Played’, Australia v West Indies 1960/61, then all the drama of the 1961 Tour of England, with the ‘Battle of The Ridge’ and the dramatic final day at Old Trafford.

The game’s most contentious issue, illegal bowling actions, reached its climax with the ‘no balling’ of Ian Meckiff by Umpire Colin Egar in December 1963.The 1960s saw a shift in the axis of power in world cricket.

For the first time in the space of a few years, the traditional powerhouses of the game, Australia & England were both defeated by the West Indies and South Africa.

The tragedy of the ‘D’Oliveira Affair’ and world opposition to the policy of apartheid would see South Africa banished from the world stage for nearly a quarter of a century.

Cricket in the 80's - Rookies, Rebels and Renaissance (DVD)      A$ 29.95
Add to basketBasket
This is the next instalment in ABC-TV’s highly successful ‘Cricket History Series’, focusing on the turmoil that beset Australian cricket during the decade of the 1980s. Tremors of varying intensity shook Australia’s national pastime to its very foundation.

The schism caused by the World Series Cricket revolution in the late ‘70s, the rise and dominance of world cricket by the West Indies, the simultaneous retirements of Greg Chappell, Dennis Lillee and Rod Marsh followed closely by the defection of sixteen players to play cricket in isolated apartheid South Africa in return for lucrative financial inducements saw Australian cricket slump to possibly the lowest point in its once illustrious history.

The way Australian cricket coped with this adversity, slowly recovered and eventually triumphed by the end of the decade is a tribute primarily to the character and resolve of two men, Captain and premier batsman, Allan Border as well as Manager and Coach, Bob Simpson.
